Explaining Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is considered to be one of the fastest growing professions in the UK. Here, Sophie Douglas, a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist based in the Scottish Borders, talks about her work and training…

“Solution focused hypnotherapy does exactly what the title says. We look for solutions rather than problems. This allows every client to progress forward and make changes in their lives rather than dwelling on the problems they face. It is amazing how this approach works so effectively with everyone.”

Hypnotherapy is used for overall improvement in health and well-being and can help with so many specific issues, such as: anxiety, depression and phobias to smoking cessation, insomnia and weight management, to ante-natal concerns, sports performance confidence building – and much more.

The best part about my job? I get to help, assist and guide every client to allow them to grow and evolve into the most wonderful versions of themselves.

I trained at the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training (CPHT), a nationwide hypnotherapy training body providing a fully accredited Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD) Course for the modern hypnotherapist. I attended class in Edinburgh one weekend a month over a period of 10 months before graduating with a diploma and then beginning my career as a Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist.

I am now Senior Lecturer at CPHT Edinburgh. CPHT has enabled me to have all the skills and knowledge I need teach and educate the next generation of eager hypnotherapists.

CPHT has enabled hundreds of students to become successful hypnotherapists and I cannot wait to help those willing, to make hypnotherapy their new career, part-time or full-time.

If you are interested in trainingas a hypnotherapist, the next Diploma course begins on the 3rd March 2018 in Edinburgh.
