Christmas at the Botanics

A trail of botanical brilliance and festive fun weaving through 72 acres

The Botanical themed Christmas light show at Edinburgh’s Royal Botanic Garden is a magical event for all the family. It’s a walk through a glowing wonderland with an accompaniment of Christmas carols and songs…and who can resist singing along to ‘White Christmas’?

If you’re lucky, while you meander the trail, past the Crocus Lawn, the Fire Dancers, Snowflake Park, or the Rainbow Hedge, to name but a few of the low-energy light installations, you may see Santa in his woodland grotto.

Festive street-type vendors sell food and refreshments, including toasted marshmallows, mulled wine and hot chocolate with whipped cream.

This year’s botanical theme melds well with the setting and friendly staff are there to greet the visitors.

The tickets sales go towards supporting the research, conservation, and educational work of this charity.

This event is on until 30 December.
