You. Are. Here.

Planetarium Lates at Dynamic Earth

“Look again at that dot That’s here. That’s home. That’s us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives…”

Carl Segan (1934-1996)

On selected October nights, Our Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh, opens up the planetarium to take visitors on a dramatic journey to the very edge of our solar system and back. In real-time the resident astronomers demonstrate the boundaries of human exploration in the wake of fifty years of special space missions.

The space-cruise – from the comfort of your seat – is a chance for some cosmic perspective in this topsy-turvy time and also a handy wee reminder that: You. Are. Here. Or, as the fascinated 12 years accompanying us marvelled, ‘We are so small, almost nothing.’ This fifty- minute show is a treat for armchair astronomers and mildly curious onlookers alike.
