AÂ new launch in Summer 2006, Lothian Life came with an enthusiastic reader base from its print days and a developing readership beyond the local area, making it a great way for expats to keep in touch with life in Edinburgh and the Lothians. I don’t need to tell you that internet sites are increasingly attractive to anyone wishing to promote their business, or an event, because of their immediacy, traceability and the fact that you can’t light the fire with them! We also love Twitter and tweet extensively for our advertisers.
Statistics
Some visitors are regular readers, others simply find one specific article through an internet search. From a modest start, we are seeing a steady increase in Unique Visitors, Page Views, Hits, Twitter followers and Newsletter Subscribers. Please email for current figures.

Information on Lothian Life Web Magazine is offered free, therefore we only earn income through advertising, sales, or commission on sales through partnerships. We are looking for a win-win situation for everyone so that you will wish to continue advertising with us.
Where reviews or advertisement features are written by promoters we make this clear. We also offer unbiased reviews of books, events and products.
We reserve the right to refuse space to any company, service or product which includes overt sexual content, or promotes religious or racial intolerance or aggression.
Opportunities
The simplest way to promote your business is through your own branded colourful banner advertising on the right hand side of the pages. Sizes and costs are shown below, starting from as little as an affordable £15 per month.
To have a link from our shop to yours is another option.
Many people these days however, prefer editorial, which remains on the front page of its category for approximately 1 month but is then on the site ‘forever’ and can be found through internal searches and through google searches. This too can include links to your own website for detailed information or sales and we believe this is very good value.
If it is an event that you want to promote, you can list this in our interactive Diary. The fee is negotiable if you have a large number of events. We can also discuss options based on whether you place the material on the site or we do. It’s also possible to place colourful banner ads on this page.
We are also interested in mutually beneficial partnerships such as wine tastings, with like minded organisations.  Or, if you have an advertising suggestion not mentioned here, please do get in touch.  Whilst we cannot advertise free of charge, we can certainly look at all other options to find one that suits both of us.
Rates
Lothian Life Web Magazine advertising rates are fixed per-month/3 months/6 months/year rates and do not include VAT, which is added at the current rate. Advertisements will not be placed before payment is received.

Diary Entry
Commercial rates are £10 per one-off entry (+VAT), including contact details and links to your website for sales. For multiple entries, entered by yourselves or by us, please get in touch to discuss an appropriate and affordable solution that works for us both.
Design Service £50
If you do not have a web site we can design a more informative advertisement page for you for a fee of £50.
