Wallace & Gromit at the Usher Hall

Musical Marvels, featuring the dynamic duo, Wallace & Gromit, is heading to Edinburgh’s Usher Hall, this summer.

As Wallace prepares to perform his musical masterpiece My Concerto in Ee Lad with help from his faithful canine companion, Gromit…what could possibly go wrong?

This interactive experience features specially created animations as well as live orchestral accompaniment, and escapades, from the Picture House Orchestra and presenter Matthew Sharp. Watching the show on the big screen, alongside the orchestra on stage, is a fun, family-friendly and very accessible way for young audiences to experience – often for the first time – live classical music.

The second half of the show will comprise a screening of Aardman’s Academy Award winning ‘Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers’ with the soundtrack also performed by the orchestra live on stage.

There is also a model-making workshop in which participants can make their own version of the loveable Gromit. Suitable for all ages, all materials are provided and families will be able to take their masterpieces home (along with an Aardman Model Maker certificate) and have a go at animating them using Aardman’s easy to use Animate It! software.

Q&A session with Aardman Studios from one of their expert model makers, learning about animation processes is also available.

The tour is presented by Carrot Productions, of whom Sean Clarke, Head of Rights and Brand Development, Aardman, says: “Carrot Productions have produced a fantastic show, featuring live orchestral music for one of Aardman’s best loved shorts, The Wrong Trousers, and we look forward to audiences across the UK having the opportunity to enjoy this unique musical experience.”

There are two performances of Musical Marvels in Edinburgh on Saturday 8 June, at 2.00pm and 6.00pm. Tickets start at £9.90, and the show runs for 80 minutes including an interval.
