The festive Foodies Festival returns to the EICC on 24, 25 & 26 November. Featuring top Scottish chefs and recent MasterChef winners, there is live music, a desserts theatre, and festive masterclasses, too.
Edinburgh’s International Conference Centre will once again be transformed into a culinary winter wonderland for a three-day festive feast. Showcasing the best of Scottish restaurants, chefs, street food and leading food and drink producers, Scotland’s top chefs will inspire you with family recipes to cook up this Christmas.
The Foodies Festival kicks off the Christmas season in style. You can get hands on with Festive Masterclasses and create everything from Christmas Wreaths with florists to Psychedelic Meringues, Christmas Canapés with Edinburgh School of Food and Wine, and Christmas Cupcakes Decorating with Fiona Sciolti.
Chefs Theatre demonstrations include: Callum Dow, new Head Chef at Trump Turnberry, Scott Smith of Norn, Neil Forbes from Café St Honore and Iain Pirrie of The Edinburgh School of Food & Wine.
With over 200 stalls at the Artisan Christmas Market, visitors can choose between smoked salmon tasting stands, local cheeses, brownies, cakes, award-winning oils and chutneys, and much more – including delicious, healthy vegan, veggie and gluten-free treats.
Gin Alley is inspired by the fact that 70% of gin in the UK is produced in Scotland. Infused with natural botanicals, rose, elderflower or casked in whisky, there’s plenty to sample from exhibitors and from our new daily Christmas Gin Cocktail Masterclasses.
Children can attend the Elf Cookery School to bake and decorate snowballs, gingerbread men, cookies and cupcakes (to leave out for Santa, lerhaps?) And visitors can also enter the famous Chilli-Eating Competition…
