Although a new launch in Summer 2006, Lothian Life comes with an enthusiastic reader base from its print days and a developing readership beyond the local area, making it a great way for expats to keep in touch with life in Edinburgh and the Lothians. Our categories are designed to cater for a wide variety of interests, as requested by our launch reader survey, and are regularly updated. I don’t need to tell you that internet sites are increasingly attractive to anyone wishing to promote their business, or an event, because of their immediacy, traceability and the fact that you can’t light the fire with them!

Statistics
Some visitors are regular readers, others simply find one specific article through an internet search. From a modest start, we are seeing a steady increase in Unique Visitors, Page Views, Hits and Newsletter Subscribers. Please email for current figures.

Code of Ethics
All information on Lothian Life Web Magazine is offered free, therefore we only earn income through advertising or commission on sales through partnerships.

Where reviews or advertisement features are provided by promoters we make this clear. We also offer unbiased reviews of books, events and products.

We reserve the right to refuse ad space to any company, service or product which includes overt sexual content, or promotes religious or racial intolerance or aggression.

Opportunities
The simplest way to promote your business is through banner advertising on the right hand side of the pages. Sizes and costs are shown below.

Many people however, prefer editorial, which remains on the front page for approximately 1 month but is then on the site ‘forever’ and can be found through google searches. This too can include links to your own website for detailed information or sales.

If it is an event that you want to promote, you can list this in our interactive Diary. This is free for events costing £3 or under. For commercial events it seems reasonable to ask for a small fee and this is negotiable if you have a large number of events.

In October 2008, we launched a monthly subscription magazine, which also includes opportunities for both editorial and banner advertising.

We are also interested in mutually beneficial partnerships such as wine tastings, with like minded organisations, so please get in touch if you have any ideas.

Rates
Lothian Life Web Magazine advertising rates are fixed per-month/3 months/6 months/year rates and do not include VAT, which is added at the rate of 17.5%. Advertisements will not be placed before payment is received. Download a booking form here. We accept payment by cheque payable to Pages Editorial & Publishing Services, Larick House, Whitehouse, Tarbert PA29 6XR or please ask for bank details if you prefer to pay by electronic transfer.

If you do not have a web site we can design a more informative advertisement page for you for a fee of £50.
