Toccata

Toccata Ladies Choir recently performed to near capacity audiences at Howden Park Centre with a varied programme. The singers gave a sparkling and polished performance which both delighted and entertained the audience.

The songs ranged from favourites from the shows with a sprinkling of traditional and contemporary songs.  The choir was skilfully directed by Eleanor Howat who always coaches the very best from the ladies.

This year the choir were pleased to showcase the talents of the National Youth Choir of Scotland Chamber Choir who joined Toccata for a rousing finale, as well as singing their own selection of music during the evening.

Last year Toccata competed in the Bangor International Choir Festival, which was a fantastic experience and brought home the trophy for the Light Entertainment class. In March the choir had another foray into competitions by entering the Ladies Choir Class at the Glasgow Music Festival. Toccata gave a wonderful performance winning the class.

It is said that ‘Music is the universal language’ and Toccata certainly proved that with their music making, to which the audience would surely testify.
