Taste of Edinburgh at the Meadows

Taste of Edinburgh is returning to the Meadows next weekend. Last year this hugely successful event, sponsored by Channel 4, attracted thousands of happy visitors to the venue where, in glorious sunshine, they enjoyed the best of food and drink in a splendidly Carnival atmosphere.

It was a huge picnic in the park, with the finest restaurants in the City doing the catering. This year Martin Wishart will be there, Forth Floor at Harvey Nichols, Ducks at Le Marche Noir, Centotre, Plumed Horse, and many other top names. In all, 20 restaurants will be taking part. Wine-tasting skills will be developed at a series of Taste Wine master classes, and well-known chefs will be giving cookery demonstrations and tips at the Taste Theatre. There will be a Producers’ Market to showcase the best of local produce, and of course in Scotland there has to be a Whisky School.

Taste of Edinburgh operates in its own currency called Crowns. Crowns can be bought with tickets as well as at the event, and are used to buy dishes from the restaurants and food and drink from exhibitors.

The event runs in the Meadows from the 29th May - 1st June

Standard tickets cost £12 for Adults, £8 for children
Premium tickets cost £25 (including £15 of Crowns)
VIP tickets cost £40 (including £15 of Crowns, Fast track entry, a dedicated area, and a glass of champagne)
Tickets are now on sale online from Taste Festivals 2008 from Channel4.com
