Fiddler on the Make
This latest offering from one of East Lothian’s most popular writers is sure to be yet another hit. Peter Kerr’s easy style and aptitude for clever puns will keep you smiling (or groaning!) all the way through.
Set in Cuddyford, East Lothian, our crafty hero, Jigger McCloud, is not short of ideas for ‘farm diversification’ most of them barely legal but justifiable if you adopt the caveat emptor attitude to life which Jigger enjoys. In other words, well-to-do incomers get what they deserve.
As always, there is a battle to be fought for rough justice and here there are overtones of mystery as Jigger’s family background comes under scrutiny.
Kerr’s larger than life characters, many of whom one suspects, could be based on people he knows (including himself!) enjoy a broad stage with which the author is completely familiar and comfortable.
Fans of his orange farming exploits and recent excursions into crime will love this latest offering.
